The Reading Room
Pick a book. Start a club. Read it with company.
A Reading Room club is a slow, friendly read-along, and any reader here can start one. Choose a book, set a pace, and the doors open when you say they do. The club reads a stretch at a time, with discussion threads that stay blurred until you have read that far. No real name, nothing public but your pen name.
How it works
- 1
Start it or join it
Pick any book on the shelves and start a club for it, or claim a chair in one that is already gathering. Whoever started it decides when the doors open.
- 2
Pick your pace
Tell the room how far you have read. Milestones are percent based, so it works the same on Kindle, paper, or audio.
- 3
Talk under a pen name
Post under your pen name; the account behind it stays private. Threads past your bookmark stay blurred until you choose to peek, so nothing gets spoiled early.
The clubs
One run reads one book. Join a club that is gathering, or scroll down and start one for whatever you are reading next.
No clubs are running right now. The shelf below is waiting for someone to pick a book.
Start one yourself
Every book on the shelves is startable. Pick one, choose how many weeks you want, and press the button. Other readers get told, they join, and you open the doors when the room feels ready.
