What we collect
Very little, and only what the reading rooms need. Reading anything on this site asks for nothing: no account, no tracker, no analytics cookies of our own.
- The Suggestion Box: when you submit an idea we store the suggestion text, the category you picked, and your email only if you choose to leave one (used solely to follow up about your idea). To keep spam out we also store a short, one-way hash derived from your connection for the day; it cannot be turned back into your address and expires from usefulness within a day.
- Server logs: our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data to serve and protect the site.
Reader accounts
Joining in (posting, joining a read-along, uploading fan art) starts with a sign in through Discord or Google. When you sign in we store:
- The stable user id your sign-in provider gives us for your account, so we can recognize you next time. We never see your password.
- Your email address, as the provider reports it, used only for account recovery and for club mail you explicitly ask for. It is never shown to anyone, never sold, and never gets an Amazon link.
- Your pen name. The pen name is the only thing other readers ever see; the account behind it stays private.
We never post anywhere on your behalf, and we do not read anything from your Discord or Google account beyond the id and email above. Two cookies make this work: a sign-in cookie that lives for ten minutes while the sign in completes, and a session cookie that keeps your chair on this device for up to 180 days. Both are ours alone; neither follows you around the web.
The Reading Room
When you post we store:
- Your pen name and the posts you write. Pen names registered before accounts arrived also carry a one-way hash of the pen name plus its secret word; we cannot recover the secret from it, and neither can anyone else.
- Fan art you upload: the image itself, its title, and your pen name. Uploads sit in a private review queue first; if a piece is not approved, the image is deleted. Approved pieces are published on the series page they were sent to.
- The same short-lived daily connection hash described above, used only for abuse prevention. It cannot be turned back into your address and goes stale within a day.
Want a post, a pen name, or your whole account deleted? Write to [email protected], ask through the Suggestion Box, or file a report on your own post and say it is a deletion request.
Affiliate links
Book and trial links go to Amazon with our affiliate tag. If you buy or start a trial through them, Amazon pays us a commission at no extra cost to you; Amazon sets its own cookies on its own site under its own privacy policy. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Recap videos
Book recap pages embed videos from YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; after that, YouTube sets its own cookies under its privacy policy. We use the privacy enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player.
What we never do
- No selling or sharing your data.
- No email marketing without your explicit signup.
- No third-party ad networks.
Removal
Want a suggestion you submitted deleted, email and all? Ask through the Suggestion Box and mention it is a deletion request, and it will be removed.
